This study assessed the influence of urban agriculture on household income in Kogi State. Specifically, the study described the socio-economic characteristics of urban farmers, determined the effect of urban agriculture on household income, and identified the major constraints in urban agriculture. A two staged sampling technique was used to select 120 urban farmers for the study. Data collected through structured questionnaire were analyzed using descriptive statistics, multiple regression analysis, and mean score from a three point Likert type of scale. The results showed that urban agriculture was mainly practiced by civil servants in their active labour age of 47 years and an average farming experience of 11 years with a mean farm size of 0.8 hectares. The regression result indicated that urban farm income increases household income at 90% confidence level in the state. Urban farmers were however constrained with inadequate capital (M=2.9), poor extension services (M=2.4) and high cost of labour (M=2.2). It was recommended that extension agents, in addition to effective service delivery should encourage urbanites to engage in urban agriculture sequel to its contribution to household income. Also, credit facilities should be made available and accessible to urban farmers in the State.
